My BFF and I went down to the pool at her apartment complex. On the way back to her place, I found a polyphemus moth resting on the grass in front of the sidewalk leading from the pool to the office. Since it was full daylight, the moth was very sluggish. I was able to get close enough to take a picture. (My hand is next to the moth to provide color contrast and for scale; I'm not actually touching it.)
Isn't it gorgeous?
