Something old

My great-aunt left me this antique turquoise and silver ring. I was in grade school when she passed away and My fingers are freakishly small - I wear My great-grandfather's baby ring on the smallest finger of My right hand - so I was never able to wear it. It sat ignored in My jewelry box for over a decade. Then, last fall, I decided to try it on just for laughs. Imagine My surprise when I discovered it fits now.

Vacation souvenir

I got this carved cowrie shell in Mazatlan, Mexico. My family and I took a vacation there when I was a child. It was the first time I ever swam in the ocean.

Favorite food

My all-time favorite food is Godiva dark chocolate truffles, but all dark chocolate is divine.

I don't get to the pool nearly as often as I'd like. As you can tell by how pale I am in mid-July. I blame My Celtic ancestors for how easily I burn.

My shoes

Remember the picture of those purple sandals I posted for the "something new" photo earlier in this challenge? These are the sandals they've replaced.

My BFF and I went down to the pool at her apartment complex. On the way back to her place, I found a polyphemus moth resting on the grass in front of the sidewalk leading from the pool to the office. Since it was full daylight, the moth was very sluggish. I was able to get close enough to take a picture. (My hand is next to the moth to provide color contrast and for scale; I'm not actually touching it.)

This is My dog. He's 50% Pembroke Welsh Corgi, 50% Australian cattle dog and 100% derp. He thinks it's his job to flop in as many places as possible. One of his favorite spots is My lap (because scritches and belly rubs are awesome, amirite?). He is the best dog ever.
